In October 2018 we received an enquiry from North East Lincolnshire
Council on our website in regard to cleaning The grimsby Cenotaph
which was erected in 1921 due to it looking very tiresome with being
situated under trees and in constant shaded area which resulted in
receiving bad press for the disarray of it.
The Cenotaph is a Grade 2 Listed monument made from Norwegian white
marble with granite steps around the monument which represent the
fallen in World War 1 and 2.
A two man team travelled to Grimsby with the trusted Doff machine
which is the only Steam cleaner recognised by Historic England to be
used on Listed buildings and monuments due to its high temperatures
and low working pressure therefore it does not damage the surface it
is cleaning.
The two man team completed the cleaning of the monument, the steps and
the surrounding pavers in time for the Remembrance parade in November
to some great reviews from the people of Grimsby and the Grimsby press
which has now resulted in Proctors sending a team every year to keep
the Cenotaph in tip top condition all year round.
